TRAINING: No special training requirements have been identified for any documents issued with this change notice.
REMARKS:
IMC 0303 (Inspection Follow-Up System) has been revised to require entry of noncited violations and nonconformances (vendor inspections only). These entries are no longer options. The instructions for treating escalated enforcement items has also been clarified.
IP 40501 (Licensee Self-Assessment Related to Team Inspections) has been revised to correct an incorrect reference to an inspection manual chapter in addition to other minor editorial changes.
IP 62003 (Inspection of Steel and Concrete Containments at Nuclear Power Plants) is issued. The Commission issued new inspection requirements for containment structures at nuclear power plants when it amended 10 CFR 50.55a, which endorses the 1991 Edition of the ASME Code, Subsections IWE and IWL. The Civil Engineering and Geosciences Branch prepared this new procedure to provide guidance to inspectors for inspecting the implementation of the new rule. The new rule became effective September 9, 1996, and requires licensees to complete the examinations required for the first period of the first ISI interval of ten years before September 9, 2001.
IP 87103 (Inspection of Material Licensees Involved in an Incident or Bankruptcy Filing) has been revised to incorporate more implementation guidance and to include a new appendix providing guidance for inspection of materials licensees who have filed for bankruptcy.
