Prince William Forest Park
to hold Signature Public Lands Day Event

September 27, 2008


Come help celebrate the nation’s largest volunteer event for public lands, National Public Lands Day at Prince William Forest Park, a unit of the National Park Service on September 27th, 2008.

Over 200 volunteers will gather and work on projects including historic cabin restoration, hiking trail maintenance, tree planting, and more.  

This volunteer event will also coincide with the reunion of the Virginia Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) alumni. Join volunteers from the Student Conservation Association, The Corps Network, Friends of Prince William Forest Park to help honor the legacy of the CCC and lend a hand to this special land.  

In addition to the volunteer work, a live music concert and raffle contest will be held at the end of the day at a lunch provided to all volunteers.

9:00 – 9:30am: Welcoming Ceremony at Cabin Camp 3
