TogetherGreen
Lends Volunteer Hands for National Public Lands Day

Announced on March 26, 2008 TogetherGreen represents an important alliance between Audubon and Toyota. It’s built on our shared belief that we must all work together if we hope to confront the tremendous environmental challenges and opportunities of today and the years ahead.

A new conservation initiative of Audubon and Toyota will add some volunteer muscle to upcoming National Public Lands Day activities. The TogetherGreen alliance was created to fund conservation projects, train environmental leaders, and to engage people nationwide in individual and collective efforts to benefit the environment.

To kick off the nationwide Volunteer Days component of the effort, TogetherGreen held volunteer activities to coincide with National Public Lands Day in late September and early October 2008.  TogetherGreen Volunteer Days connect people with local opportunities to make a difference in the health of their world. Audubon Chapters, Audubon Centers and Audubon Science Programs join with other local groups to attract the new and diverse conservation participants needed to address pressing environmental problems and opportunities.

TogetherGreen a perfect fit with National Public Lands Day.

Audubon has long been a conservation partner and for the past 15 years, Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. has sponsored National Public Lands Day and encouraged Toyota employees to get outdoors and lend a hand for parks and other public places as NPLD volunteers.

Thousands of Toyota employees from offices, sales and manufacturing facilities across the country are expected to join various volunteer efforts over the five-year initiative to help build volunteer conservation impact.  The TogetherGreen.org web site offers additional information on the program and how everyone can Act Today to Shape Tomorrow.
