ILDPR History
DPR History – 86 Years of Public Service.
In addition to licensing several professions,
the department was originally created to oversee the
five "normal" schools, now known as public
universities, the State Board of Natural Resources and
Conservation (which performed water and geological surveys),
and the State Museum Advisers.
