AQMD aims to establish an effective working relationship with the business
community and to provide a clear understanding of air quality requirements. AQMD's goal to achieve healthful air quality while maintaining a vibrant economy
prompted the establishment of the Economic Development and Business
Retention (EDBR) Office. EDBR is ready to assist businesses that are
planning to expand their operations, to relocate within AQMD's jurisdiction, and
to set up operations for the first time.
The AQMD is one of the first environmental regulatory agencies to develop and
implement an EDBR Office. The key to the development of the EDBR program
was the establishment of close working relationships with other agencies and
organizations involved in similar efforts at the city, county and state levels.
The close working relationship with AQMD partners helps resolve complex issues
that cross agencies and other jurisdiction lines.
Some of the partners in the EDBR program include the following Economic
Development Organizations:
As part of the EDBR program, AQMD's Small Business Assistance Office also
provides assistance to small business owners with filing of permit applications.
More information regarding this service is available on the
Small Business Assistance Office webpage.
