USDA Releases the Operators by Race Report

WASHINGTON, Feb. 22, 2005 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has released a special report titled Operators by Race. The report contains U.S. and State level counts of principal operators by race for 1997 and 2002, formerly found in separate publications. It also includes state level counts of operators who reported more than one race in the 2002 Census of Agriculture, by specific combinations of race reported. This report is available at www.nass.usda.gov/Census_of_Agriculture.

Census results are available for free on the NASS Web site at www.nass.usda.gov by clicking on "Census of Agriculture" or call 1-800-727-9540. NASS collects and provides a vast array of production, economic, demographic and environmental facts about U. S. agriculture through regularly scheduled weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
