Airport planning ensures that we can satisfy aviation demand efficiently and effectively by developing airports that are financially feasible and comply with local, State and national goals. We establish standards and guidance on national airport layout and master and system planning.
During planning, the Sponsor identifies short and long term needs of their airport. Based on these needs, the Sponsor submits Airport Capital Improvement Program (ACIP) data sheets for each individual project. These data sheets enable us to identify, prioritize and assign funds for airport development. We evaluate each project for eligibility, justification, reasonableness of cost and priority.
