TRANSCRIPT OF VIDEOThis surveillance tape video footage shows the unknown male suspect standing in a vestibule with his back to the camera. The victim attempts to walk through the vestibule on his way out of the building when he is attacked by the suspect. The victim falls to the ground as the suspect flees the scene. Moments later, the suspect returns to the vestibule, retrieves a garment bag he had left behind, and again flees the scene. DESCRIPTION
THE DETAILS SURROUNDING THE CRIMEOn August 14, 2006, at approximately 1 p.m., an armored car messenger was robbed and shot as he was exiting a department store in a mall in Calumet City, Illinois. The unknown male suspect allegedly waited for the victim in an employee/customer service vestibule pretending to be using a telephone. When the victim attempted to exit the store with the cash receipts in a bag, the suspect shot the victim twice, grabbed the bag, and fled on foot. Twenty seconds later, the suspect returned to the scene for a garment bag he had left behind. After fleeing the scene with the garment bag, the suspect is believed to have re-entered the mall through another entrance. It is unknown where the suspect went after entering the mall. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing dark-colored cargo pants and a light-colored shirt with a maroon or darker-colored shirt underneath. The weapon used in the assault was a .38 caliber blue steel revolver. REWARDThe FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this attack.
