Figure 8.5 is titled "Past Year Treatment for Mental Health Problems among Adults Aged 18 or Older, by Type of Treatment: 2002 and 2003." It is a bar graph, with the following note below the graph: "Statistically significant differences at 0.05 level between 2002 and 2003 are denoted by '+.'" The horizontal axis represents type of mental health treatment, and the vertical axis represents the percentage receiving treatment in the past year. There are four types of mental health treatment: any treatment, inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, and prescription medication. Within each category of type of mental health, there is a bar for 2002 and a bar for 2003. For each type of treatment for mental health problems and year combination, the percent of adults receiving treatment in the past year is as follows:

The percentage receiving any mental health treatment in the past year was 13.0% in 2002 and 13.2% in 2003.
The percentage receiving inpatient mental health treatment in the past year was 0.7% in 2002 and 0.8% in 2003.
The percentage receiving outpatient mental health treatment in the past year was 7.4% in 2002 and 7.2% in 2003.
The percentage receiving prescription medicine for mental health treatment in the past year was 10.5% in 2002 and 10.9% in 2003.

None of the differences are significant at the 0.05 level.
