Figure 7.6 is titled "Locations Where Past Year Substance Treatment Was Received among Persons Aged 12 or Older: 2002 and 2003." It is a bar graph, with the following note below the graph: "Statistically significant differences (at 0.05 level) between 2002 and 2003 are denoted by '+.'" The horizontal axis represents the number, in thousands, receiving treatment at a specific location, and the vertical axis represents types of substance treatment locations. There are eight types of substance treatment locations: Self-Help Groups, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Mental Health Center, Hospital Inpatient, Private Doctor's Office, Emergency Room, and Prison or Jail. Within substance treatment location, there is a bar for 2002 and a bar for 2003. For each substance treatment location and year combination, the number of persons receiving substance treatment is as follows:

The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at a self-help group was 2,021 in 2002 and 1,911 in 2003.
The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at an outpatient rehabilitation facility was 1,536 in 2002 and 1,243 in 2003.
The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at an inpatient rehabilitation facility was 1,094 in 2002 and 752 in 2003. This is a significant difference at the 0.05 level.
The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at a mental health center was 1,016 in 2002 and 729 in 2003. This is a significant difference at the 0.05 level.
The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at a hospital as an inpatient was 859 in 2002 and 587 in 2003. This is a significant difference at the 0.05 level.
The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at a private doctor's office was 523 in 2002 and 377 in 2003.
The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at an emergency room was 469 in 2002 and 251 in 2003. This is a significant difference at the 0.05 level.
The number of persons, in thousands, who received substance treatment at a prison or jail was 259 in 2002 and 206 in 2003.
