Figure 6.3 is titled "Marijuana Use among Youths Aged 12 to 17, by Recency of Use: 2002 and 2003." It is a bar graph, with the following note below the graph: "Statistically significant differences (at 0.05 level) between 2002 and 2003 are denoted by '+.'" The horizontal axis of the graph represents recency of use, and the vertical axis represents the percentage using marijuana. There are three categories of recency of use: Lifetime Use, Past Year Use, and Past Month Use. Within each of these categories there is a bar for 2002 and a bar for 2003. For each recency and year combination, the percentage of 12 to 17 year olds using marijuana is as follows:

The percentage of youths with lifetime marijuana use was 20.6% in 2002 and 19.6% in 2003. This is a significant difference at the 0.05 level.
The percentage of youths with past year marijuana use was 15.8% in 2002 and 15.0% in 2003.
The percentage of youths with past month marijuana use was 8.2% in 2002 and 7.9% in 2003.
