Figure 4.3 is titled "Past Month Cigarette Use among Youths Aged 12 to 17, by Age: 2002 and 2003." It is a bar graph, with the following note below the graph: "Statistically significant differences (at 0.05 level) between 2002 and 2003 are denoted by '+.'" The horizontal axis of the graph represents age in years, and the vertical axis represents the percentage using in the past month. Within each age, there is a bar for 2002 and a bar for 2003. For each age and year combination, the percentage using cigarettes in the past month is as follows:

The percentage of 12 year olds with past month cigarette use was 1.7% in both 2002 and 2003.
The percentage of 13 year olds with past month cigarette use was 4.7% in 2002 and 3.3% in 2003. This is a significant difference at the 0.05 level.
The percentage of 14 year olds with past month cigarette use was 8.5% in 2002 and 8.4% in 2003.
The percentage of 15 year olds with past month cigarette use was 14.1% in 2002 and 13.6% in 2003.
The percentage of 16 year olds with past month cigarette use was 21.9% in 2002 and 20.1% in 2003.
The percentage of 17 year olds with past month cigarette use was 28.1% in 2002 and 26.4% in 2003.
