Mortgagee Letter 06-15, dated June 8, 2006, announced HUD's requirements for reporting all FHA mortgages that are (or were) 30 or more days delinquent. This information is sent to HUD's Single Family Default Monitoring System (SFDMS). These revised reporting requirements were effective for the October, 2006 reporting cycle, which began November 1, 2006.

Default Reason Code for Claims Preparation

On all claims where HUD requires that Item 4, Default Reason Code (Form HUD-27011, Single-Family Application for Insurance Benefits) be completed, servicing lenders are reminded that ML 06-15, Appendix 2, lists all valid codes for reporting the reason for the default or delinquency. Effective November 1, 2006, lenders must also use these codes when filing claims for FHA mortgage insurance benefits.

FHA Connection (FHAC) Hours of Operation

From the FHAC Home page, select link 'Hours of Operation' under the section 'Getting Started,' for both regular and special delinquent loan application operating hours.
