WASHINGTON, DC—Arthur F. Rosenfeld, Director of the U.S. Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, has notified negotiators for the Boeing Company and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) that he wants the parties to re-convene negotiations under the auspices of the FMCS in the nation’s capital.

Calling the ongoing strike by the IAM against Boeing “a priority matter for this agency,” the FMCS Director said he wants the parties to meet beginning this Thursday in Washington, D.C.  The parties last met with federal mediators in weekend talks that were recessed on Oct. 13.

The FMCS said the new round of discussions has been scheduled to start Thursday, Oct. 23 in Washington, D.C. to allow the parties time to complete necessary travel arrangements.
