WASHINGTON (January 13, 2009)—Three employees from the FBI’s Information and Technology Branch (ITB) graduated Dec. 12, 2008, from the Information Resources Management College’s Advanced Management Program (AMP) at the National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, D.C.
Earning their AMP diplomas were Robert T. Blake, Richard Chandler, and Shau-Fai Tse. In addition to graduating, Blake was named the Top Distinguished Graduate and was honored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association for his achievement. Richard Chandler was a Distinguished Graduate.
All three also earned their Chief Information Officer (CIO) Certificates.
The AMP is a 14-week course that prepares students to leverage information for strategic advantage by educating them in policy, planning, performance, process, acquisition, and information assurance. It includes core courses in policy, strategic planning, performance management, business process improvement acquisition, information assurance, and strategic leadership development. AMP students participate in a variety of electives with their student peers from other NDU colleges and the School for National Security Executive Education.
The NDU’s CIO Certificate Program is the recognized source of graduate education for Federal CIO leaders to develop themselves and their agencies for leveraging the information component of national power for strategic advantage.
Besides the FBI’s three ITB employees, this most recent session was comprised of 28 employees from throughout the federal government, to include the Departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, and Agriculture. Students from Brazil, Canada, Israel, Pakistan, and Singapore also participated in the course.
