Point of Origin Responsible Agency Unit Identifier

This data standard adopts the NWCG Unit Identifier data standard to identify the agency with primary fire protection responsibility at the point of origin of a fire.

NWCG data standards provide a specification that enables the common usage of data across wildland fire information systems. This data standard consists of the following:

• Meta-data definition – the rules needed to ensure the data format and data usage are standardized across automated systems. (Last updated: 6/2008) [28K, PDF]
• Standard data values – the actual standardized data used by the wildland fire community, often provided as a pick-list or look-up table. (Last updated: 11/2007) [10K, PDF]
