Point of Origin Land Owner Kind & Category

This data standard adopts the NWCG Land Owner Kind & Category data standard for identifying the owner at the point of origin at the time of an incident.

NWCG data standards provide a specification that enables the common usage of data across wildland fire information systems. This data standard consists of the following:

• Meta-data definition – the rules needed to ensure the data format and data usage are standardized across automated systems. (Last updated: 8/2008) [39K, PDF]
• Standard data values – the actual standardized data used by the wildland fire community, often provided as a pick-list or look-up table. (Last updated: 11/29/2007) [10K, PDF]
