CONCENTRATE and Find the Weeds

Although they may look pretty, many non-native plants are actually invasive weeds that quickly establish thick stands, choke out native plants and threaten habitats.

Play our concentration game and see if you can match up these invasive "villains" to reveal an important message!

Important note: You'll need to be able to view "Flash" animations to run the game. It also may not display properly in the Netscape browser.

To play the game: 

  1. Click on a card to turn it over, revealing a picture of one of the invasive plants.
  2. Try to find the second card that matches the first.
  3. If the second card does not match, both cards return to a face down position.
  4. If they do match, the cards turn to reveal part of the background picture.

  • Learn to identify the invasive weeds in your area
  • Take care not to spread them into new areas
  • Report invaders to your local land manager
  • Volunteer to help with removal or control

Developed by Florida State University's Science Education Department in cooperation with the BLM to engage middle school students in learning about invasive plants and animals.
