News ReleaseFor Release: March 27, 2008 Alabama Hills Stewardship Public Meeting SetThe community of Lone Pine and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office will be holding a short public meeting on Wednesday, April 2, regarding management of the Alabama Hills. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and take place in the movie room behind the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce office. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss stewardship actions in the Alabama Hills for 2008, said Chris Langley, Inyo County film commissioner. In November of 2006, the BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine and expressed its support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills.
