BLM Schedules Public Workshop on Keyesville Area Recreation

The Bureau of Land Management’s Bakersfield Field Office will hold a public workshop January 28 in Lake Isabella to discuss recreation in the Keyesville area. The workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lake Isabella Senior Center, 6405 Lake Isabella Blvd.

“We will primarily discuss what recreation opportunities such as hiking and mountain biking members of the public would like to have available in the Keyesville area,” said Peter DeWitt, BLM recreation planner. “We will hold another public workshop in late February or early March to specifically discuss off-highway vehicle recreation issues such as travel management and route designation.”

The meeting will consist of a short overview of the Keyesville area, its resources and recreation opportunities. Members of the public will be asked to express their interests in the area and their vision for the future management. An opportunity for written comments will also be provided.

Information from the meetings will be used in planning recreational opportunities for the Keyesville area.
