Alabama Hills Stewardship Public Meeting

The Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office and the community of Lone Pine are holding a public meeting on Tuesday, September 9, regarding management of the Alabama Hills. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Beverly and Jim Rogers Museum of Lone Pine Film History.

“The purpose of the meeting is to discuss stewardship actions and future management of the hills,” said Chris Langley, Inyo County film commissioner.

The BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine in November 2006 and expressed support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills.

For more information, please contact Chris Langley at (760) 937-1189 or Jim Jennings of the BLM at (760) 872- 5027.
