                          MEDIA ADVISORY


       HHS Secretary Louis W. Sullivan, M.D., and District of
Columbia Mayor Sharon Pratt Dixon will participate in ceremonies
in conjunction with the United Way of Washington, D.C., to mark
the fifth annual Teenage Appreciation Day.  The Secretary will
keynote remarks to some 400 teenagers and parents drawn from all
over the District in a tribute to the winners of this year's
United Way Teenage Appreciation Day Awards.  The awards seek to
recognize youth who exemplify positive role models for their
peers.



     DATE:               Thursday, March 28, 1991


     LOCATION:           Humphrey Building, Great Hall,
                         200 Independence Avenue, SW
                         Washington, D.C.


     TIME:               Ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
                         Media set-up time begins 9:00 a.m.
