Purpose

The Center for the Advanced Study and Practice of Information Assurance (CASPIA) at Santa Clara University is an interdepartmental institute whose purpose is to promote research, education, and good practice in information security (INFOSEC) and information assurance (IA).

Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Recognition

A national level committee of the National Security Agency has determined that our curriculum parallels that required for the CNSS (NSTISSI) standard 4011 for information assurance professionals. Formal recognition was announced at the annual conference of the Committee on National Systems Security (CNSS) in April 2003.

In June 2006 CNSS recognized our latest achievement, of meeting the CNSS (NSTISSI) standard
4012 for Senior System Managers.

Next year we will seek recognition as an Academic Center of Excellence in Information Assurance Education under an outreach program of the Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency.

Students who complete appropriate courses may petition to receive the 4011 and 4012 certificates.
