Orchids! Beauty and Beyond will show this amazing family of plants through a series of displays featuring the medicinal uses, pollination, hybridization, evolution, conservation, adaptations, and other facets of orchid biology and horticulture. Also featured, in collaboration with the National Capital Orchid Society, will be an exhibit of award-winning orchid cultivars that explains how orchids are judged for superior qualities. To announce this ninth annual orchid exhibit, the USBG Conservatory entrance will be hung with a stunning display of orchid-themed silk banners hand-painted by artists from Silk Painters International, Inc.
