The number of persons known to be involved
in the 1,641 robberies, burglaries, and larcenies was 1,996. The following

Investigation to date has resulted in the identification of 757 (38 percent)
of the 1,996 persons known to be involved. Of these 757 identified persons,
326 (43 percent) were determined to be users of narcotics, and 112 (15 percent)
were found to have been previously convicted in either federal or state court
for bank robbery, bank burglary, or bank larceny.

Injuries, Deaths, and
Hostages Taken
Acts of violence were committed during 76
(5 percent) of the 1,641 robberies, burglaries, and larcenies which occurred
during this three-month period. These acts included 18 instances involving
the discharge of firearms, 53 instances involving assaults, and 12 instances
of hostage situations. (One or more acts of violence may occur during an
incident.) These acts of violence resulted in 29 injuries, three deaths,
and 19 persons being taken hostage.

gathered when provided to the FBI from local and state law enforcement.
