As part of TRIDENT II Fire Control System and Attack Weapon control system tasking: 


The contractor shall provide coordination of the documentation efforts and finalize the combined Auxiliary Systems (Aux Sys) Systems Design Document, and update software documentation in accordance with the SP approved AS documentation plan.  The contractor shall evaluate the concept of providing a Windows based common OS and a Linux based common OS for use within Auxiliary Equipment. The contractor shall develop prototype software to evaluate the capabilities of Linux-based SCSI driver software for use with the SMGS Operational and Diagnostic Software CSCIs. The contractor shall develop prototype software to evaluate the hardware and software capabilities of the GCP card for use with the Flight Control Simulator User Interface Software CSCI.


 


Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Pittsfield, MA.  GDAIS is the sole manufacturer of the TRIDENT (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and Attack Weapons Control System and the only source with the in-depth knowledge, expertise, and in-place capability to perform the required effort.  See Note 22.*****
