||
Nuclear Regulatory Commission
officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have announced the assignment of Stephen
Max Schneider as the agency's senior resident inspector at Millstone 2 nuclear
power plant in Waterford, Conn.
Schneider replaces Steve Jones who accepted a position in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation at NRC's headquarters in Rockville, Md. Schneider joined the NRC's Region IV office in Arlington, Texas, as a reactor engineer in 1999. Most recently he was a resident inspector at the River Bend Nuclear Generating Station in Louisiana. Prior to joining the NRC, he worked for the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense. Schneider earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Lowell in Massachusetts. Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring significant work projects and talking with plant workers and the public. Schneider joins NRC resident inspector Paul Cataldo at Millstone 2. They and the other resident inspectors at Millstone Station can be reached at 860/447-3170. |
