NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has received two reports from its Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste following the committee's meetings on June 10-11 and July 20-22.

The reports, in the form of letters, provide comments on issues and recommendations concerning the near-field environment and the performance of engineered barriers at Yucca Mountain, and draft 10 CFR part 63 and revision 0 of the total system performance assessment issue resolution status report.
