NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commissions' Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards has scheduled a meeting of its Subcommittee on Reliability and Probabilistic Risk Assessment on September 24 in Rockville, Maryland.

The subcommittee will meet at 8:30 a.m. in Room T-2B3 of the NRC's Two White Flint North Building at 11545 Rockville Pike. It will discuss proposed options for developing a risk-informed approach to revising 10 CFR 50.59 (regulations on changes, tests and experiments), and industry initiatives to certify probabilistic risk assessments.

Other aspects of the meeting, including an opportunity for public comment, will be described in a Notice of Meeting published in a forthcoming edition of the Federal Register.
