NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has scheduled the following upcoming meetings on Millstone Station:

* On Tuesday, September 22, the NRC staff will meet with officials of Northeast Utilities to discuss the results of the NRC evaluation of the Millstone Employee Concerns Program and Safety-Conscious Work Environment.

The meeting, which is open to the public for observation, will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Leland F. Sillin Training Center at the Millstone site.

* On Tuesday, October 6, the NRC staff and NU officials will meet to discuss the results of the NRC's Independent Corrective Action Verification Program Tier 1 and Tier 2 inspections at Millstone 2.

The meeting begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Millstone Training Center. It is open to the public for observation.

* Later that evening, the NRC staff will meet with the public to provide an update on the status of the Millstone Unit 2 recovery efforts and NRC internal realignment, which dissolved the Special Projects Office for Millstone.

The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Waterford Town Hall on Rope Ferry Road.
