NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with officials of Consolidated Edison Company of New York on Friday, August 7, to discuss the company's assessment of the effectiveness of performance improvement initiatives at its Indian Point 2 reactor in Buchanan, NY.

The meeting, which is open to the public for observation, begins at 11:30 a.m., in the Energy Education Center at the site.
