List of Model Neighborhood Networks Centers

In June 2005 the Neighborhood Networks Initiative introduced a new center classification system, with three levels of classification that correspond to three different levels of achievement.

Model Neighborhood Networks centers serve as centers of excellence for the entire Initiative. To achieve Model status, a Neighborhood Networks center must:

 -   Achieve Designated and Certified status.
 -   Achieve the Model standards—seven are mandatory, two are optional.

Mandatory Model Standards

 -   Center has been operational for 3 years.
 -   Center conducts resident surveys at least once every 3 years. Survey results guide program and service development at the center.
 -   Training and other programs include written curriculum or program guidelines.
 -   Center has a system to track, evaluate, and report results of program activities to improve program performance and outcomes and increase resident participation.
 -   Center is actively engaged with a minimum of two partners.
 -   Center engages in fund development to increase financial sustainability.
 -   Center environment should include high-speed Internet access, up-to-date equipment and operating systems, accessible work space and equipment, implemented security features, attractive and clean physical facilities, and operational for at least 30 hours weekly.

Optional Model Standards

 -   Center has obtained 501(c)(3) status or is aligned with a 501(c)(3) organization.
 -   A board of governors or similar body provides center governance.

 -   Rainbow Terrace Center (Ohio)
 -   Community Network Learning Center (Alabama)
 -   CPDC Gateway @ Edgewood Terrace (Washington, D.C.)
 -   Goodwill Industries Diane Armstrong Learning Center (New York)
 -   Dauphin Gate Neighborhood Networks Center (Alabama)
 -   Spartanburg Terrace Resource Center (South Carolina)
 -   Plough Towers Computer Learning Center (Tennessee)
 -   The Knowledge Center at the Terrace (Indiana)
 -   Mount Zion A.M.E. Apartments Resource Center (South Carolina)
 -   Interfaith Homes Neighborhood Networks Center (Michigan)
 -   Garrison Woods Neighborhood Networks Training Center (Virginia)
