EPA's Web site on Brownfield Redevelopment
This site contains news, grant information, and explanations of brownfields development.

The Brownfields Center
A joint venture from Carnegie Mellon University and The University of Pittsburgh, the center applies an interdisciplinary approach to researching brownfield redevelopment.

The Brownfields Technology Support Center
Tracks the most current technologies available for brownfield site investigation and cleanup. The center is coordinated through EPA's Technology Innovation Office.

The Center for Brownfields Initiatives
This is the business and community portal for identifying, structuring, closing and supporting Brownfields and Urban Redevelopment transactions on the Internet. The site is a clearinghouse for information, research, property listings, and supporting services.

The Northeast-Midwest Institute
A non-profit policy center, the institute engages in research and education to promote the region's economic development and to enhance the quality of its environmental and human resources. The institute has been at the forefront of brownfield policy development and information dissemination since the early 1990s.

Also see the institute's report entitled "State of the States, An End-of-Session Review of Initiatives and Program Impacts in the 50 States," which highlights the successes and challenges state programs have faced over the past year. (Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to view this document.)

The Technology Innovation Office (TIO)
TIO advocates more effective, less costly approaches to assess and clean up contaminated waste sites, soil, and groundwater. TIO's focus includes brownfield sites, as well as Superfund sites, corrective action sites under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, underground storage tank clean-ups, and state voluntary clean-up programs.
