MSHA Demonstrates Protocol of Mine Escape System
MSHA’s “Great Escape,” a system developed for miners suddenly faced with an underground mine emergency, was unveiled Thursday, Nov. 8 at the agency’s Approval and Certification Center in Triadelphia, W.Va. The system provides miners a constant and uncontaminated supply of breathable air, along with a rapid, safe means of escape through an isolated, structurally protected escape path. The system, as designed, also could safely protect communications and tracking systems from fire and explosive forces. You may contact us at zzMSHA-InnovativeProducts@dol.gov. Resources
