On October 16 - 19, 1997, eight Estonian GLOBE schools participated in the annual Telecommunications and Media Exhibition "Tele 97" in Tallinn, Estonia's capital. At this conference, the GLOBE schools introduced a large number of teachers and students from non-GLOBE schools to the GLOBE program and materials.

The GLOBE participants demonstrated the GLOBE protocols and GLOBE school activities and introduced the GLOBE home page to the Exhibition guests. Students gave computer presentations featuring the GLOBE web site, including the GLOBE Student Data Archive and GLOBE visualizatons. The students also gave an overview of GLOBE Web Chats, highlighting the archive from a chat on El Nino.
