Become a member of the Disaster Reserve Team

The Disaster Reserve Team is a group of fully qualified and trained SBA employees (including re-employed military and Federal retirees) on a seasonal work schedule, available to respond to disaster emergencies anywhere in the United States and its territories, often within 48 hours or less.

The mission of SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance is to help homeowners, renters and businesses throughout the US affected by natural disasters recover and rebuild their lives. We accomplished this goal not just through providing affordable, timely and accessible financial assistance but through the very efforts of our dedicated, and passionate national team of professionals.

The Disaster Reserve (DR) Program was created to meet SBA’s goals to have a group of reservist in a stand-by mode, ready to be called to duty on short notice to deploy to disaster areas. We are looking to hire and train hundreds of talented people with varied skill sets - if you are dedicated, hardworking, have a passion for people and a heart to serve.

Disaster Reserves Construction Analyst

As a Construction Analyst, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel’s in the Loss Verification department of a Field Office location.  Your main duties will be to conduct field examinations and performs a variety of task directed at verifying cause, determining extent and estimating the repair/replacement cost of damage to personal, real, and business property that resulted from a catastrophe that was declared a disaster by either the President or the Administrator of the Small Business

Disaster Reserves Paralegal Specialist

As a Paralegal Specialist, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel either at the Processing and Disbursement Center or at a Field Office location.  Your main duties will be to assist Attorneys in disbursing disaster loan proceeds and act as an advisor to disaster office personnel on legal and policy matters concerning the lending process.

Disaster Reserves Legal Assistant

As a Legal Assistant, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel either at the Processing and Disbursement Center or at a Field Office location.  Your main duties include being responsible for one or more aspects of creating loan closing and disbursing funds to borrowers.  The position requires knowledge of a variety of legal forms and documentation and extensive use of office automation software to create review or assemble disaster loan closing documents.

Disaster Reserves Attorney Advisor

As an Attorney Advisor (General), you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel either at the Processing and Disbursement Center or at a Field Office location.  Your main duties will be to provide legal advice and services to assure the legality and legal sufficiency of all actions and instruments in the processing, closing and disbursing of disaster home and business loans.

Disaster Reserves Loan Specialist

As a Loan Specialist, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel either at the Processing and Disbursement Center or at a Field Office location.  Your main duties will be to process residential and business disaster loan applications by applying standards, and accepted financial and credit analysis techniques.  You will also be tasked with assisting loan applicants that are seeking funds for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement of disaster-damaged personal, real, or business property to offset economic injury which results from a physical disaster.

Disaster Reserves Specialist

As a Disaster Reserve Specialist, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel whom is responsible for communicating the SBA Disaster Assistance Program to the public in person or via the telephone.   You will also be tasked with the resolution of complex application dilemmas or delays.

Disaster Reserves Technician

As a Disaster Reserve Technician, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel whom is responsible for communicating the SBA Disaster Assistance Program to the public in person or via the telephone.  You will also be tasked with the resolution of routine application dilemmas such as missing information.

Disaster Reserves Information Technology

As an Information Technology Specialist, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel responsible for developing, implementing, operating, and maintaining information technology (IT) equipment and systems at a Field Office location.

Program Support Technician

As a Program Support Technician, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel at the Personnel and Distribution Center (PDC) whom performs technical and administrative support to various departments within the PDC in Texas.
