Aerial observations by the USCG after the fuel release indicated a maximum slick of 3
miles by 3 miles rapidly dissipating  and breaking up due to wind and wave action.  Pilots
further reported that roughly four miles of beach was lightly affected by the oil.  A
beach survey conducted by the vessel owner four days after the release indicated no
shoreline effects or accumulations.
