Aerial observations by the USCG after the fuel release indicated a maximum slick of 3 miles by 3 miles rapidly dissipating and breaking up due to wind and wave action. Pilots further reported that roughly four miles of beach was lightly affected by the oil. A beach survey conducted by the vessel owner four days after the release indicated no shoreline effects or accumulations.
