SUBJ: OSC POLREP FIVE SUMMARY (MSO Anchorage 110520Z May 87) 1. Situation: a. Vsl remains agound off Reef Pt., Sea Lion Rocks, SW tip of St. Paul Is. with lube, diesel and hydraulic oils on board. MSO and PST reps. and response equipment staged at St. Paul Is. to remove remaining oils from vsl. b. O/S wx: Winds w/25 kts, seas 4-6 ft, snow showers. Forecsat: winds and seas to moderate snd shift to more favorable direction, winds NW at 15 kts and seas 3-4 ft. 2. Action: a. 09 May CG reps on scene launched 2 inflatable boats and approached Ocean Clipper. Due to heavy seas and stromg winds oil recovery ops not attempted. b. Personnel on scene monitoring wx and sea conditions to determine when oil removal ops may be effected safely. 3. Plans: a. Oil removal ops to commence when seas and wx moderate. 4. Status: Case pends.
