Write a sentence that tells what would happen to the soil moisture measurements if you did not remove the living and dead plant and animal material.  Write another sentence that tells why the soil moisture would be different.

Write a paragraph that explains how the soil moisture would change throughout the year if you did not complete the step of removing the living and dead plant and animal material each time you took a soil moisture measurement.

Make a list of all the errors that could affect the soil moisture measurements.

Pick 3 different places on Earth.  Write a sentence about each that describes what you think the soil temperatures would be like at that place.

Pick 3 places on Earth – one that you predict would have a soil temperature approximately the same as at your site today, one that would have a higher  soil temperature and one that would have a lower soil temperature.  Write a paragraph that describes the location of each site, your prediction of the soil temperature and an explanation of why the temperatures are the same or different.

Choose 5 sites around the world that fall within a category of your own choosing (same / different continents, same latitude / longitude, places where your relatives live etc.).  Write a paragraph that describes the location of each site, your prediction of the soil temperature and an explanation of why the temperatures are the same or different.
