About the Office of Human Resources (OHR)

The Office of Human Resources (OHR) provides strategic leadership in the development and assessment of the Department of Health and Human Services’ human resources program and policies. OHR serves as the Department’s liaison to central management agencies such as the United States Office of Personnel Management (USOPM) and consists of five HHS Human Resources Centers.

Human Resource Centers or Offices within HHS:

  • Atlanta HR Center (AHRC)
    • Supports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

  • Baltimore HR Center (BHRC)
    • Supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

  • Office of Human Resources, Indian Health Service HR Center (IHS)
    • Supports the Indian Health Service

  • Office of Human Resources, National Institutes of Health (NIH)
    • Supports the National Institutes of Health

  • Rockville HR Center (RHRC)
    • Supports the following organizations:
