IT Contracting and Purchasing

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) advises the Secretary and the Assistant Secretary for Resources and Technology on matters pertaining to the use of information and related technologies to accomplish Departmental goals and program objectives. To fulfill its mission, the OCIO relies on a variety of contracts to acquire equipment and services. Managing the acquisition process of the Department’s Information Technology in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, the OCIO oversees the full life-cycle of contracts. The OCIO works with contracting organizations, contractors and other parties to ensure that contractual transactions are substantively correct, and to track completion of tasks.
