Mr. Chung graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a degree in visual art: imaging and digital art. He worked as a lead animator at Infomatic corp. in Burtonsville, MD before starting at Xpandcorp and is currently a contractor with NIH/NLM. At Infomatic he worked on various online learning modules using Flash and did research on possible commercial applications using Web3d (Director and Maya applications). During this time he also taught Photoshop and Maya for a semester at Montgomery College. Prior to Infomatic he worked as a graphic designer for the National Association for Music Education in Reston, VA, designing various print material and web sites.

Current Projects

Turning The Pages: The project creates series of photorealistic books created from scanned pages of historical medical books and available in both kiosk and Web versions. Visitors may ‘touch and turn’ these pages in a highly realistic way. They can zoom in on the pages for more detail, read or listen to explanations of the text, and access additional information on the books in the form of curators’ notes. Working with raw information, I am responsible for all software (Macromedia Flash) and Web programming, animations, and image enhancements.
