In September 1995, GLOBE students from the Katherine D. Burke School in San Francisco demonstrated GLOBE data entry and computer visualizations for President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore.

Eighth grader Stephanie Dee and fourth grader Emily Warren showed the President and the Vice President how GLOBE students use the Internet and the World Wide Web to share environmental data collected at their school with the scientific community and with other GLOBE schools around the world.

The President was in San Francisco to announce his goal of having every school in the nation on the Internet by the year 2000.
