This notice is to remind potential applicants that the NHLBI Innovative Research Grant Program  continues to support R21 applications submitted via the NIH-wide solicitation for the NIH Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Program (Parent R21) (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-06-181.html).

This change in application procedure was first indicated in NOT-OD-06-046 (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-06-046.html) which noted changes due to transition to electronic submission using the SF424 (R&R) Grant Application Package.

The overall goal of NHLBI Innovative Research Grant Program remains unchanged, and awards made in this program may be used to support the addition and analyses of elements of existing data sets and existing specimen collections to the extent feasible within the time and dollar limits of the program.  Establishment of new collaborations is strongly encouraged.
