Overview
The Court Reporting Division is responsible for making a verbatim record of all proceedings in the Superior Court. The Division produces transcripts for filing with the Court of Appeals and for private parties, attorneys, the press, and others.

The Court Reporting Division is divided into three branches:

  1. Court Reporting Administration Branch receives all incoming transcript request forms. The office is located on the fifth floor of the Moultrie Courthouse -- Room 5500, 500 Indiana Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001
  2. The Court Reporters Branch provides court reporting services to selected proceedings. Official Court Reporters are responsible for taking approximately 75% of all proceedings at D.C. Superior Court. When a court reporter was in the courtroom and responsible for memorializing the proceedings, please direct any inquiries related to transcripts directly to the court reporter.
  3. The Transcription Branch produces official transcripts of proceedings. The Transcription Branch can provide information concerning a transcript where the proceedings were taped, not covered by an Official Court Reporter.
