Galveston Island, TX, September 19, 2008 -- Rear Admiral Craig Vanderwagen, Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response,  Health and Human Services, center, meets with the members of the Disaster Medical Assistance Team. The DMAT was set up at the University of Texas Medical Branch as a mobile emergency facility following the disruption of power and services to the area due to Hurricane Ike.
