Logistics

Logistical support provides domestic medical response capability through the preparation and deployment of staffed, trained, and equipped public health and medical care resources.   Logistical support works to support Emergency Support Function #8 which pertains to health and medical services, supplementing State and local resources during a developing medical situation.

Logistical support is responsible for:

  • Accountability and visibility of medical response readiness capability to OS, ASPR staff, OPEO, Federal partners, regions, States, Territories, and Tribal Government as requested
  • Deployable communications supporting voice, data, video satellite, and radio in support of domestic medical response assets
  • Plans and procedures for HHS primary Mission Essential Functions continuity in support of the National Essential Functions
  • Travel support for OPEO and HHS deployable assets
  • Medical re-supply for deployable assets
  • Coordinating Internal and external Federal and industry partnerships to ensure support of ESF #8 preparedness
  • Management of service contracts and execution of acquisitions for services and supplies.
