The current era of traumatic events has caused Americans to reconsider our need to be prepared in the face of potential catastrophes -- natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and fires, as well as human-made events such as terrorist attacks.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) has focused the following resources on Disaster Readiness and Response, to help communities provide mental health and substance abuse services in the wake of these terrible events.
