Duke
Ellington was born on April 29, 1899, in Washington,
D.C. He became a band leader and a composer of
music. Mercer Ellington, his only son, attended
the Julliard School of Music in New York City.
Ellington was not the subject of an FBI investigation,
but his name did appear in the files of other
subjects. He died on May 24, 1974 in New York
City.
