Bank Robber Arrested

Thomas Michael Everett was arrested today for El Paso's ninth bank robbery of 2007. Everett, a 57-year-old white male from Mississippi, surrendered to law enforcement in Carlisle, Arkansas, earlier today.

The July 20, 2007, bank robbery occurred at State National Bank, 6044 Gateway East, El Paso, Texas. Everett walked into the bank around 10:30 a.m. and presented the victim teller with a note, then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Although Everett is only charged with one count of bank robbery, 18 U.S.C. 2113(a), he is a suspect in several bank robberies in other states. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. This investigation was worked jointly by the FBI and the El Paso Police Department as part of the Violent Crimes Task Force.
